How to Do What You Love – Part One
Welcome to February – a month which many associate with love because of one day- Valentine’s Day.
Well, if you are not a romantic at heart but can see the benefits of ‘love’ in relation to business, then stay tuned.
In this first of two parts, I want to look at how we can have a passion for what we do.
Do you love what you do? Are you passionate about what you do? Would you still do what you do now if you made no money?
Now, I know that the last question seems crazy because no one can afford to work for free, but the point is if you are prepared to work for nothing then what you do means something!
Of course, I am in no way advocating working for free; this is a hypothetical question to get you thinking about your relationship with your work. In fact, do you ever ask How many hours will you work in your lifetime?
Many, is the answer. If you work for yourself, the hours are even longer, so you really do need to enjoy it. I know that in reality, it’s not always possible, and as if that’s not bad enough isn’t it unrealistic to love what you do?
Well, not necessarily. If you need some convincing, here are a few sources that’ll push you in the right direction and help you get to grips with How to Do What You Love.
